OCRe: OCR everywhere app for iPhone and iPad

OCRe (OCR everywhere) allows you to extract text and generate searchable PDF files from the pictures taken with your phone. In this way OCRe acts as a mobile scanner with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) abilities and PDF generation capabilities.

IMPORTANT: This application wasn’t tested with the iPod or iPad camera, so it isn’t recommended the use of the camera on those devices.

OCRe works with any existing image on your phone or taken with the camera. To process an image, please notice that resolution and illumination are key factors that have a huge impact on accuracy.

The extracted text can be edited, copied, saved, sent by email even with the searchable PDF and original image files attached. OCRe also allows to combine multiple generated PDF files into a single file with several pages. The PDF files generated with OCRe can be accessed and copied from your iPhone through iTunes or send by email.

All the OCR and PDF generation process takes place in your phone, without the need of an Internet connection or the payment of any extra fee.

OCRe features:

⚫ OCR (Optical Character Recognition) supported in the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian (experimental). Russian language currently doesn’t support searchable PDF generation.

⚫ Combine various documents on a single one and a single PDF file up to 10 pages.
⚫ Searchable PDF allows to make text search on the PDF viewer (if the viewer supports it).
